Sarah Thornton, formerly the chief correspondent on contemporary art for The Economist, is a bestselling author and sociologist of art. In a conversation with Eric Shiner, Director of The Andy Warhol Museum, Sarah will discuss her new book “33 Artists in 3 Acts,” which offers unprecedented access to a dazzling range of artists, from international superstars to unheralded art teachers. Called “the Jane Goodall of the art world" by the Washington Post, Thornton talks with leading contemporary artists such as Ai Weiwei, Jeff Koons, and Cindy Sherman and turns a wry, analytical eye on their different answers to the question, "What is an Artist?"
