For more than five years Fred Pugh has been wowing audiences with his smooth delivery of classic jazz ballads made famous by Billy Eckstine, Johnny Hartmann, Arthor Prysock, and countless others. His voice has been compared to that of Jonny Hartmann, Will Downing, and Lou Rawls. A stellar performer, Fred has performed locally with Pittsburgh greats: Kenny Blake, Roger Humphries, Dwayne Dolphin, Kevin Howard, Sandy Staley, and Sandy Dowe in a variety of venues that include: the Crawford Grill, James Street Tavern, Crawford Grill on the Square, Dowe’s on Ninth, the Backstage Bar on Theater Square and for many festivals around town, such as: Pittsburgh’s citywide Kwanzaa celebration, A Tribute To The Dancin’ Demons, The Great American Stake Out in Warren, Ohio and with jazz fusion’s Straight To The Point in Cleveland, Ohio.
