Roby "Supersax” Edwards was born October, 16 1974 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His interest in music sparked when he began listening to his father's Wes Montgomery records in. He then picked the trumpet for the 4th grade band, however it is was short-lived. He had seen a Travel & Leisure magazine that had a photo of a saxophone player promoting New Orleans and at this time he was inspired to the coolness of saxophone playing. In the 5th grade the decision was made to lay down the trumpet and persue the sax. He was immediately recognized as possessing above average musical talent.
He has since then performed in over 12 countries as a bandleader as well as a sideman with some of the best in the business. Roby always delivers a dynamic, entertaining show and is well known for surprising twists & turns.
Roby currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA and continues to travel extensively as a World Class Saxophonist, Performer, Teacher and Recording Artist.
