Multiple MAC, Backstage Bistro and Nightlife award winning singer, songwriter Carolyn Montgomery-Forant made a triumphant return to the cabaret stage with her one woman tour-de-force, VISIBLE PHOENIX. The show ran for fourteen months at New York's esteemed Laurie Beechman Theatre, garnering twenty-three rave reviews including the New York Times, which calls her a "smart, complicated storyteller." The one-hour show is filled with an eclectic mix of music, from standards to Broadway to original tunes that are very, very funny.

Montgomery-Forant addresses a wide variety of topics, from making a "come back" after a ten year hiatus (she owned and ran her own restaurant in Manhattan and had a baby during those years) to alternative lifestyles, raising children, and traveling the country in search of herself. Montgomery-Forant has brought Visible Phoenix to London, San Francisco, Chicago, Austin, Provincetown and Denver. Her most recent CD, also called Visible Phoenix, was included in two "Top Ten Recordings of 2015" lists on New York City entertainment sites, and she won the MAC Award for Best Original Song in March of 2016, together with her songwriting partner Jeff Cubeta.

Together, Montgomery-Forant and Cubeta are touring the country raising money for The Matthew Shepard Foundation on The Rise Tour and bringing Visible Phoenix to each city they visit. Theater doors for Late Night shows open at 10PM, but you may arrive earlier and enjoy happy hour in the Backstage Bar. If you have any questions, please call our host desk at 412-325-6769. We offer free Late Night admission to ticket holders of any earlier Cultural District show - simply show your ticket stub from an earlier show to enjoy Late Night at no charge (same date only / select shows / based on seating availability).
